Isla Coiba has become famous in recent years as one of the world's largest marine parks. Declared a national park in 1996, the principal islands Coiba, Jicaron, and Jicarita, as well as 35 other adjacent smaller islands and the Islas Canales and Islas Secas cover approximately 1000 square miles protected marine and land habitat, with over 145 species of birds, and 1450 species of plants. In 2004 Coiba National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We offer a few basic tours of the park, and can put together custom trips as well.
